This is officially my first completely digital drawing, lol! Recently I purchased a Yiynova and I have to say I'm never looking back. I think I'm in love.
This is Miss Prudence Heathcote, a supporting character in a Regency Project I'm fiddling with on the side. Currently it's being called "Romancing the Fennimoore Heiress," but that's a working title and may be subject to change. Expect to see more of her and other members of the cast in the future.
The rough under sketch was done in Photoshop. I used a light blue color at 40% and used one of the harder brushed (not the pencil but the bushes). I sketch in a kind of thick brush size too. I do all fine work in my inking.
When I went to ink my sketch I realized I didn't like Photoshop's inking tools. I like my lines hard and the pencil tool in Photoshop just doesn't get the fine lines I wanted. I also disliked thresholding the softer brush. So instead I imported my sketch into MangaStudio. I MUCH prefer the inking options in MangaStudio, even in color lines, which is what I did here since I knew I was going to color this anyway. I also put down flat color for the image in MangaStudio for good measure.
I know you can color in MangaStudio, but I don't like it as much as PhotoShop. So Imported my image back into Photoshop and did the shading, completing the image.
I'm not going to mention much more about this project just yet. But I'm sure savvy viewers will quickly realize what I'm doing. I hope you you like it!
